Departure

The Journey Begins

B - Today was the start of a 4 month journey through South America, we are two friends that, for some reason decided that we wanted to do this. I'm not sure what we'll learn, hopefully a little Spanish at least, and I'm not even sure what I'm looking forward to most, probably the food, it's always the food. But I think it's an exciting time for both of us, as neither of us have ever done anything like this before.

And as I sit and write this while we fly into Bogota I'd just like to say . . . I hope we make it through customs.

L - Today is the beginning of an adventure of a lifetime. I'm so excited that I can't even describe the feeling. The new discoveries that will be made, the food that will be tasted, the new people we will meet, and the ridiculous struggle we'll have trying to communicate with limited Spanish.

We are on a beautiful journey, and I look forward to the amazing diverse landscapes of the six countries that we (hopefully) get to visit.

First stop is Bogota, Colombia. I've made a new friend on the plane, Juan Carlos - maybe we'll visit him soon in his home town. Who knows. Let the adventure begin!
